The International Conference on the Lens (ICL) will be held December 8th to 13th, 2019 in Kona Hawaii at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay.

The ICL evolved from the previous US- Japan CCRG meetings (1980 to 2009) and is open to all cataract and lens researchers worldwide. Sponsored by the National Foundation for Eye Research (NFER), the ICL has grown in stature attaining the reputation of being the leading forum for lens researchers. The meeting clearly exceeds ARVO in its presentation of cutting-edge lens research. A minimum of 20 travel grants are anticipated to be available for investigators to participate in the meeting.

The ICL is held every two years in Hawaii. This conference provides lens researchers with the unique opportunity to meet in a casual atmosphere to exchange the latest breakthroughs in lens research and establish collaborations over meals, while also enjoying the many wonderful activities available in Kona, Hawaii.

Registration to the ICL includes the following:

  • Hotel accommodations with breakfast buffet Monday –Friday. Taxes included.
  • Sunday night Welcome Reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages
  • Lunch Buffet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
  • Monday night luau with beverages
  • Thursday night banquet with beverages
  • Morning and afternoon coffee breaks and Poster Session with beverages

Accompanying adults sharing the room will receive the hotel breakfasts. Accompanying adult registering for the meeting includes the Sunday the Sunday night Welcome Reception, the Monday night luau, and Thursday night banquet.

Please note that Registration this year includes the Sunday through Friday morning hotel room. For those attending the ICL, the hotel is offering a special rate of $172 + tax for Run of Ocean rooms) 3 days pre and post (Dec. 5-8 and 13-16) with a discounted resort charge of $10.00 + tax and discounted self parking of $5.00 + tax, based upon availability at the time of request. Please indicate your day of arrival and departure. These dates will be automatically reserved for you, but you will be responsible for the hotel room for any dates.

FOR THOSE NOT REGISTERING FOR ACCOMMODATIONS THROUGH THE ICL, THE PRICE OF REGISTERING FOR THE SCIENTIFIC MEETING WILL BE $ 850.00 per person.
